The Stantonian

This section will feature copies of “The Stantonian” published by Stanton Ironworks.  This in house magazine was published published by the company from 1928 – 1962.  In 1962 along with company changes one magazine ended and another started, this was called ‘Stanton and Staveley NEWS’.  This continued until October 1968.  The Stanton and Staveley News was discontinued in October 1968, news however continued from this point on in ‘Steel News’ a British Steel publication.  This was a sad end of an long era.  In July 1985 The Stantonian returned from the grave and began a new publication containing both news and humour.  I am unsure how long this new edition ran for, if you know I would be grateful if you could drop me an email.

In April 1962 ‘The Stantonian’ came to its end after 34 years of publications (or so it seamed at the time).  As this magazine ended a new publication started which continued with many of the magazines original features, this was called ‘Stanton and Stavely NEWS’.  Stanton’s history was also changing at this time as the company would now be known as Stanton and Staveley.
